Craig emigrated to the U.S. from Scotland in 1884 and managed the Three V Ranch outside of Belle Fourche, Butte County, South Dakota from 1893-1919. The Three V Ranch was owned by Western Ranches, Ltd., a Scottish firm which owned and operated cattle ranches in the American West.
